A fun, relaxing game which I'm really enjoying! Seems to be working great on my NTSC C64 (real hardware). The intro music is very nice but too quiet. I think it would be more fun if the fish didn't get away as often before I even have a chance to roll. Saving the game to a file would be preferable to using codes (NES games only did it because they didn't have a disk drive). This game has a ton of potential, overall. I hope you continue to work on it or maybe a sequel with even more features.
A great and truly relaxing gaming experience. I've included it in my new "Gameplay of New C64 Games from April 2025" video, along with other recently released games. I hope you enjoy the video.
I'm really glad to know you enjoyed the game. On the intro screen, there's a short musical theme (very simple) that I kept at a low volume so it wouldn't bother those who aren't into that. You can try turning up the volume a bit to hear it. I plan to release an update soon with an improved soundtrack and some more sound effects as well. If you'd like to create a chiptune for it, feel free—I'd be happy to check it out. Thank you very much for your kind words and suggestions. :)
Intertesting game. We may cover this in the next issue of Zzap!64 magazine. Bug report - if any of your resources or the number of fish caught go into two digits, the border graphic to the right of it vanishes as a space.
Rechecked with 1.0.3, still happens, but it's a factor of the fishing screen not the navigation map area. I had 20 bait, fished once and then it says 19 with a space and a blank in the divider. Ditto as soon as I caught over 9 fish.

Does it support NTSC?
Supports both PAL and NTSC. :)

Out of interest is there a way to βwinβ the game? Once you earn a certain amount of money?
This game is not about win, it's about fishing and keep fishing while you have cash. To be in the game for a long time may be a challenge. :)

It would be great to see the game featured on Zzap!64. Is there anything I need to do to make it happen?
Regarding the bug (thank you for the report), are you using version 1.0.2? I tested it here and the issue didnβt occur. :o
We pick the games, so nothing to do on your part! And yes 1.0.2 as in our review area, but Ill retry with 1.0.3

Thank you very much for your report. I'll fix it and launch a new version.
I uploaded the version 1.0.4 with this problem fixed. Thank you! :)
Really enjoyable game. Perfect addition for a retro handheld. Thanks for making this.

Interesting concept, i like the petscii look.

Menu control is rather slow. What language/compiler do you use?
I'm using C language. The menu control can be configured to get faster. Maybe I'll release a new version with the control a bit faster.
Good job! Fish Tycoon β Coming Soon!
Thank you! π
looking forward to this one
Thank you! :)
